Just got home from celebrating that OUR BOYS WON THE MOTHERFUCKING WORLD CUP
I KNEW IT! <333
It's 3 am here and I need to go to bed (although with all the noise on the street, I don't think I'll be able to get much sleep) but
WE ARE THE FUCKING CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD. How awesome were they today? And how much did I want (still want to, actually) kill that referee? That was possibly the worst referee I've seen in this World Cup, which is saying a lot, if you remember the one we got when we played against Paraguay and the one from the England-Germany match. PROFESSIONALISM, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.
And yet, we still won and my darling Iniesta scored! After being hit by god knows how many Dutch players. Also, I have to say this, not as a Spaniard but as a football fan: the Dutch played a very mean and ugly game tonight. They're a brilliant team and I don't know why they thought playing like they did was a good idea. That was not good sportsmanship.
And this, I say as a Spaniard who loves Xabi Alonso: WHAT THE FUCK? WHY THE FUCK DID YOU KICK HIM IN THE CHEST WITH YOUR FUCKING FOOT? THE BALL WAS NOWHERE NEAR HIS CHEST, FOR FUCKS SAKE!
Okay, better now (Xabi, I love you).
Note for my future self: Dear self, when celebrating the victory of your team and carrying a camera, there is no such thing as "too far away" from the crazy people in the fountain, you will get wet, no matter how safe you think you are.
Oh, and I stink. But it was so worth it. I will remember tonight for the rest of my life. Not only did they win but I got to watch the match with some of my best friends, surrounded by actual football fans (and a few people who were there just because) and we sweated and we danced and we gripped each other's arms when the Dutch got too close to Casillas, who is a superhero, as always, and we did the conga (don't ask) and we shouted and we went crazy with Iniesta's goal and it was beautiful.
I'll post the photos tomorrow, possibly along with a picspam of my beautiful, talented, incredible boys.
Okay, I'm off to the shower but here, I'm going to leave you with this precious video, which is THE SWEETEST THING EVER, DON'T FIGHT ME ON THIS:

Now with a quick, sloppy translation for those who don't speak Spanish, by yours truly:
SARA: J, the Princes are leaving...
IKER: I'm staying.
SARA: But Iker is staying. Hmmm, well, how it all started and look now!
IKER: What do you want me to say? What do you want me to tell you? ( I love Sara's face in this bit, btw, with the raised eyebrows and the smile)
SARA: Tell me how you are; how are you feeling?
IKER: Well, I'm feeling very happy, very pleased aaaaand really cheerful. I think we deserved it from beginning to end and I'm just grateful to the people who have always supported me. My parents. My brother. *tears up*
SARA: It's okay. Let's talk a bit about the match and then we'll go back to the a...(I guess she was going to say acknowledgments)
IKER: No.
SARA: No?
IKER. My friends and you *SMOOCHES*
IKER: I'm going.
*people cheer*

*more applause*
SARA: Well... we'll continue later, okay, J? Okay.
