what we really liked was that you dived right into rodeos, which is what we asked for! your details about competitive cattle roping and sehun's fascination with it as an extension of his fascination with jongin made for a really good pull at the beginning of the fic. the subject was not what we expected at first! far from being a story about cattle roping and rodeos, you took our prompt as an opportunity to discuss familial relationships in a family with people who don't quite get each other, meta about homosexuality and being in the closet as opposed to out [when sehun and zitao didn't get caught kissing, but maybe they did after all, but it changes their relationship-- tao disappearing from his life as a warning of what will happen if he toes that line], and the cyclical nature of things, it all starts with jongin at the rodeo and it ends there, too :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I'm extremely pleased and surprised that you liked this considering I ended up straying from the prompt because of my unfamiliarity with rodeos and horses. It was definitely a little more challenging than the other prompts, which made me switch back and forth between prompts, but my instincts told me that you were hoping very much for the prompt with horses or rodeos. I think the next time I try to take on a prompt like this I'd like to incorporate more of the rodeo aspect.
I hope we can be friends in the near future.
