I keep wandering whether Brynn and I should make time during our next joint visit home to gather up our mission notes and form them into a book of some kind. Perhaps it could be used to inform and teach squires and young paladins about the things they might get up to. Of course, that would mean admitting that Brynn would be a good example to young trainees. And before you start Brynn cast your mind back to that bridge incident. You know precisely which one I mean.
It seems that Mira had only a little success in questioning our captive elf. His chain seemed to become animate and attacked Mira and Goru while we were searching the camp. We assisted her and executed him which released the gauntlets he'd been wearing. According to Mira, the gauntlets are somewhat sentient, they speak Draconic apparently. They 'chose' the elf, it seems that the gauntlets control the chain and rather than let the thing run riot and risk it throttling us in our sleep, we each tried the gauntlets on. They didn't 'choose' anyone until Scan finally tried them on. Apparently our halfling Rogue is 'chosen'. I think I feel relieved, clothing and armour should not be sentient. At least the lethal chain can be controlled.
Luckily Mira acquired some useful information. The elf was named Quarion, he works for a female Drow (I know Brynn, I personally blame you for jinxing this.) who is currently in the town of Meadowsend, where the young watchman Cedric was murdered. We retraced our steps, making sure to go via the ruins to check up on things there.
It was fortunate that we were able to hitch a lift from the logging village with Bob, a local woodsman. It's made the journey much quicker. Tarian, Scan and Mira appear to know a wide and varied collection of folk songs relating to lumberjacks. I'll admit these are somewhat lost on me, but Bob appears to thin they're amusing. We're approaching Meadowsend now, there seems to be some commotion and a couple of airships. We could be heading into trouble here. Hopefully we won't be walking into fatal trouble...
