MY VAN CAUGHT ON FIRE....
Dear Friends and Family
So long story short.....I pulled in the drive way to my office...came in and started working....my boss pulls in an HOUR later and is screaming at me that my car is on fire and I run out there and there is this grey smoke billowing out from under the hood.
From my navy training, i know that grey smoke means something is VERY VERY hot but no flames yet....so i run back in call 911...grab the fire extinguisher and go back and i cant get close cause of all the grey smoke (still no flames) so i sprayed the hood of the car.
Well the grey smoke stopped for a second and I had to back away cause of all the co2 from the extinguisher....and good thing Idid, there was this huge boom and a back draft happened and the entire hood of my car burst into flames.
911 got there and put it out....
Since it had been smoldering for an HOUR before I knew about it, it LITERALLY melted everything under the hood besides the engine.....even the battery.....
....and the end result, I no longer have a car.
I was not in the car and no one was hurt so thatʼs nice.
However, I have learned my lesson about only having liability insurance on a car, because thatʼs all I had and so I am getting NOTHING for my loss.
So I come to my friends and family for help. As pathetic as it is, I am sending this email to everyone that is in my address book. I live in Los Angeles and its really not possible to be without a car as we donʼt have the best transportation system here.
Anyone that knows of someone selling a RELIABLE car, please let me know. I need one that isn't going to catch on fire. LOL.
