What a fab day I've had. It's been a very productive day and I've done quite a bit of work. In fact I don't think I've managed to do this amount after sleeping late and going to the shops. I always seem to work better when I have the house to myself. I've almost completed my commission. I would have finished it today but I can only paint in daylight because I find the light from lamps doesn't really allow you to mix the right colour.

After I had been to the shops at Sainsburys, I noticed that they have loads of trees and shrubs that are turning all sorts of vibrant autumn colours. So I decided to collect some leaves for this commission, like you do in a car park. It was funny because I received some very odd looks by passing people who were loading their cars with shopping. But I didn't care.

A new guy turned up at the acoustic night and he was excellent. His singing was like an American folk singer from the 60s. You do get a good mixture of musicians at the acoustic night. Darren was also excellent as always and this time he did some songs with Andy. I actually thought Darren's singing was better this week because Andy was playing the guitar so that just left Darren to focus on the singing and it appeared to be so much better.

We haven't seen Andy for a while because him and Lou went to Cyprus and Egypt for a holiday for 2 weeks. But they had to stay longer as Lou fell very ill and needed to have an operation to have her appendix (don't think I've spelt that correctly, nevermind) removed. Therefore they only got back home last Monday but our poor Lou is still not right and is feeling very sore. She asked me if I could get her some canvases and brushes so that she could start her painting again whilst she's off work. Even though I had to go into the shop on my day off to get them, I didn't mind at all.

Rigtht footy is about to start.
