Concerts Ahead
I now have arranged to go to two different concerts in the nearby future.
1) Ozzfest in August. An ex-coworker of mine at HNTB e-mailed me wanting to go, since he vowed to see Metallica and Ozzy before he died, and this may be his last chance for either one or both. After looking at the lineup I decided it would be a good outing. I could give a rat's ass about seeing Metallica... the bands I want to see are the ones in the morning. The ones I'm really looking forward to are Devildriver (one of my favorite bands), Kingdom of Sorrow, Soilent Green, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Black Label Society. I am not 100% sure I'll stick around for the main stage bands.
2) The Deth Tour on July 5th. If you have ever seen the cartoon "Metalocalypse" on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim," it is a cartoon about a heavy metal band called Dethklok. It is pretty funny. The band actually has a CD out, and they play their songs quite frequently on XM radio's Liquid Metal station. I'm really going to see Chimaira (one of my favorite metal bands) and Soilent Green, who'll also be at Ozzfest. The concert will be at House of Blues in Dallas.
Good stuff. Friday is moving slow, and I'm definitely ready for the weekend to start up!!!
