Christmas Lemming
Of course I have to take this one
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper, but gift bags if I can't find the right box.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Sadly, artificial. I hope to one day have a real tree again, but right now a hand-me-down artificial tree will have to do (and Christmas tree scented home fragrance stuff)
3. When do you put up the tree? Last weekend of November. December is so chaotic, I rarely have time to enjoy my tree if I wait any later. When the urchin was little, we waited until Christmas eve. When he was old enough to help, we started putting it up the first weekend in December.
4. When do you take down the tree? The weekend after New Years Day, (or New year's Day itself if it falls on a Sunday). That has become a tradition too... hot cocoa and munchies for all!
5. Do you like eggnog? Blech
6. Favorite gift received as a child? That is a tough one..I think it was the Light Brite my grandmother gave me.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but I really should. Trouble is I have no where to display such a thing.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My hunny, the Liquid Leezard. thank the gods for wishlists.
9. Easiest person to buy for? My son. Books, video games, movies and music. He will even accept clothes if they are something in particular he wants..like toasty fleece lounge pants (his latest thing).
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. E-mail is jsut too impersonal for me at Christmas.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A porceline doll as a kid. It was something delicate that I had to be very careful with. I think that is when I learned to loathe things whose sole purpose is to collect dust.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Miracle on 34th street (black and white with Natalie Wood)
13. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, I would much rather return and exchange the gift.
14. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My mother makes a German cherry torte that is to die for. I might be brave and try to make it myself this year.
15. Clear lights or colored on the tree? White. We have many antique and brightly colored glass ornaments on the tree. I love how the white lights show them off. My hunny, however, prefers multi-color lights. As this is the only Christmas-related thing he is vehement about, I let him win this one.

17.Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel. having no brothers or sisters, I go home for Christmas every year. My ex and I live in different cities, so I travel to get my son. I doubt there will ever be a time when I don't somehow travel for the holidays, but I don't really mind.
18. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? But of course..you mean there are those who can't?
19. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Presents from German relatives Christmas Eve, gifts with mom Christmas morning, gifts with the Leezard Christmas night.
20. Most annoying thing about this time of year? That this time of year now starts in late October. It makes it all the more difficult to keep Christmas a special and magical time.
21. Favorite ornament theme or color? Memories..and that comes in all sorts of colors.
22. Favorite food for Christmas dinner? Spiral ham with a rasin glaze.
23. What do you want for Christmas this year? For those I love to be happy and to make some wonderful memories with my son. Even for my ex to have a good Christmas after all the struggles he has been through.
24. Have you ever peaked in a present? When I was a kid, yep. Until the year I saw almost all my presents ahead of time. No christmas morning surprise. That taught me.
25. How many Christmas trees are in your home? Two, one in the living room and a small desk-top type in the art studio.
