Oh my god, yes, long-suffering Anne would be so great. I also kind of like the idea of someone meeting her with her sisters and being like "THANK GOD, THE SANE ONE" and then having an interaction with her on her own later on and being like "... wow, I suddenly see the family resemblance :|". I think space AUs would suit them really, really well, also. (The other space AU I want is for The Secret Garden, actually, where the garden is at the heart of the spaceship, but I forgot to nominate it. Boo.)
:( I hope you decide to do it! Are there any requests you could just do because you feel fond of them, even if you're not super excited? Or you could recycle requests from previous years that you didn't end up getting?
That sounds like a good plan to me! :D I made sure this year to nominate because I forgot last year, so I wanted the fandoms I would be really excited about getting, but I think there's such a great selection that you could almost definitely find some fun things there. Have you checked out the fandom list? Maybe something might make you remember that secret story you always wanted.
You could! I decided against it in the end just because I'm pretty sure that's the only Secret Garden story I want, which seems unfair to a writer. *g* But yeah, seriously -- I think I would read more sci-fi if it was about how big and empty space could be, the stories I want about space travel are all about people drifting with only their own (tiny!) crew through the big dark for months and months and not sure if they're the last ones out there or what. Clearly I imprinted on Ray Bradbury young.
