My decade in fandoms

Dec 31, 2019 19:34

Once again I'm very sorry to have deserted everyone here yet again.  My work is so busy now that I don't have the time to make the posts like I used to, and I can barely keep up with writing fic sometimes let along doing this.  Having said that, I miss it here and it's the end, not only of a year but also of a decade.  So I thought how on earth can I do something to mark that occasion.  Then I thought ... well I've had quite a few fandoms over these last 10 years, most of which I've shared on here.  So why not revisit those.  That means you all get a fun look back through one fanvid per fandom and/or otp for the last decade (vids not necessarily from the year they map onto).  There aren't exactly 10 fandoms because some fandoms spanned more than one year.  So here are the fandoms which dominated (or was my newest obsession - in some cases the previous year's fandom was still biggest for me) each year of my 2010s:

2010: Harry Potter.  OTP: Harry/Ginny (I prefer book Harry/Ginny to this but this is what we have, so):

2011-2012: Doctor Who.  OTP: Amy/Rory:

2015: Lovely Little Losers.  OTP: Peter/Balthazar (aka 'grown up NMTD', also why did Peter have to change his name ... I mean I know why, but it makes life difficult)

2016: OMG Check Please.  OTP: Jack/Bitty

2017: Skam.  OTP: Isak/Even

2018: Shadowhunters.  OTP: Magnus/Alec

2019: Druck.  OTP: Matteo/David.  This one I haven't ever talked about here.  It's the German remake of Skam (there are 8 versions now I think????), this is the Isak/Even pairing but it's different enough that I am newly obsessed.  David as a character has a very different struggle than Even did and it's those differences, and the dynamic between these two and my love for Matteo, that made me stick around.  In some ways, I think I even love this one more than I loved Skam itself because this one I watched live.  Anyway, here they are:
