The emperor Caligula (the insane emperor) has kidnapped Claudius (eventual emperor after Caligula) and some other important people. Anyway, Claudius and the others are in a dark room basically waiting to die because they've no idea what Caligula is going to do to them. Since he's bat shit crazy death seems like the most logical expectation. Fortunately, and hilariously, for them they do not die but get to witness a personal performance by the cross-dressing emperor himself. Oh so funny!
