Annoyance
Has anyone ever received a phone call on their cell phone, and the caller ID comes back "Unknown" (not a number, but the actual word "unknown"), and you answer it and a recorded message comes up?
At about noon today I missed a phone call from "Unknown". This has happened once before, and it ended up being William and Mary wanting money. I didn't think about it again until my phone rang at about 5:15 with "Unknown" on the caller ID. So I answered it this time, and there was a recording on the other line saying, "I have an important message. Hold one moment please." It said that twice, then apparently hung up. Now I'm getting a phone call every 20 minutes or so from "Unknown".
It's nothing too bad, but it's just really annoying to hear my phone ring every 20 minutes. Thankfully I have set "unknown" to a different ringer, so I know not to answer it. I don't want to turn the ringer volume off in case someone I know is trying to reach me (like that ever happens), but I don't want to be annoyed every 20 minutes. So if this has happened to someone, or someone you know, what is it? I'm just curious...
