Wednesday - *Jigs*

Aug 13, 2003 16:28

It's wednesday. It's 4:28 PM. It's.. about two weeks until I go back to school. Doesn't that just suck? It wouldn't be as bad if I didn't have loads of homework to do - heck, I'd be happy! But no, the past few weeks have been horrible for me. I'm a nervous wreck. I'm worried about not finishing my work and getting an F. You wanna know what I've been assigned for my sophomore year? I'll make a list.

For Honors English 10:

-Read Death of A Salesman - completed
-Read Kaffir Boy - completed
-Read Watership Down - WORKING ON IT.
-Do a journal entry for each chapter (of Watership Down) - all fifty of them. Keep in mind this is for Honors English, so it can't be half assed. - WORKING ON IT.

For A.P. U.S History:

-Read packet of stories - Not even started.
-Answer difficult questions in end. - Not even started.
-Read 3 chapters when you receive the book. - Not even started.
-Outline the one, in detail, that you are assigned - Not even started.

It doesn't seem like much, but it really is. IT IS. I curse myself for goofing off most of the summer. I HAVE TWO WEEKS TO DO ALL OF THE THINGS I HAVEN'T DONE. TWO WEEKS. *Hits self with mallet* But I'm to blame. At the moment, I'm working on journal entries. I've set a goal to do 10 or more A DAY. That way I get done in 5 or less days, and I can do the packet. Once I get my book, I'll do the outline. I'm not so worried about the AP US History work.. it's the journal entries. 50 of them. Decently lengthed. You wanna see one of them I've written? Since I don't know how to do the 'read more' thing, I'll just paste it here:

I really love how Adams always describes in detail the setting whenever the rabbits come to a new one. I can genuinely see the forest as they enter it, as well as hear and smell it. Adams not only writes about the sense of sight, but smell and hearing also. In particular, he uses lines like, “From the moment he entered it, the wood seemed full of noises. There was a smell of damp leaves and moss, and everywhere the splash of water went whispering about. Just inside, the brook made a little fall into a pool, and the sound, enclosed among the trees, echoed as though in a cave.” I’ve often read books where the authors over describe every little detail, and I really dislike that. I’ve also read books where nothing is described, and I dislike that as well since part of reading is imagining what’s happening in your head. Adams uses the perfect amount of description: not too much, but enough to give you the real picture of what he’s writing. I can definitely see why this book is so acclaimed, or at least why Adams himself is. Though I may not understand yet why he is writing about rabbits, I admire his style.

Already I am seeing that my predictions about Pipkin (and Fiver) were correct. They aren’t as strong as the other rabbits, so they can’t run nearly as far without stopping for a breather. Later in the story, I am sure they’ll prove even more of a burden, since now, even at the beginning of the journey, they are causing the group to stop and rest when it isn’t necessary for them.

That's one of my shorter ones. u_u; Oh the immense pressure I'm feeling right now.. thank God for my computer.. I'm a much faster typer than writer. If I couldn't write the entries, I'd kill myself. Honest to God.

OK. On a lighter note, I had a lot of fun with El last night. No, you dirty readers, get your minds out of the gutter. We finally finished our Pirates of the Caribbean Storyline.. granted, it sounds more like a soap opera than anything else, but we think it sounds SO much fun and we can't wait to RP it. We're recruiting members now that we finally have something we can show them. I also finished the website for it.. (www.angelfire.com/crazy/sl) I know it's nothing special, but it's better than the lazy hometown @ AOL SL pages I've seen.

I also got married to Barbossa yesterday. *Admires the large ring on her ring finger* Due to a 'what pirate is your honey' quiz result, I realized how much I adored him. It makes me happy knowing I can keep 'Bossa to myself, since all of the stupid crazed fangirls go after Will and.. *cough* Jack.. *Stares at her layout* And so what if I am one of those crazed fangirls? I'm a married woman now, happily, actually. Barbossa is a good husband. He doesn't beg or even ask for sex, thank God. All he wants is a barrel of apples. Give that to him, and he's a happy old fart. Also, I get his monkey. :B Jack has taken a liking to me, so now he's on my shoulder wherever I go. The best part is, I can sick him on rabid fangirls! It's awesome! I say, " Go get her, Jack. " Though, at the mention of the name Jack, the fangirls go wild and their jaws start to foam, but the monkey handles them quite well. I got him a rabies shot so there's no worries there.

El and I are extremely happy to get this SL off the ground. The main people involved are situated.. (Jack, Elizabeth, Will, and my made up charrie) except for Will. There aren't enough Will RPers on AOL, but we might get one. I met a nice girl by the name of Britt last night, with the screen name Commodore Norry. Rofl. She's an awesome chica, and she admitted she plays Will as well. El and I are going to mob her and make her play Will for us. :D We don't really care if she isn't a good one.. the main thing we care about is having fun and being comfortable around those we RP with. *Does a jig* That's what has lifted my mood. Still, I'm nervous about summer homework, and I'm running out of apples to keep Barbossa happy.. but I'll manage. *Skips off into the sunset* Oh, and for my readers..

Leave comments. Comments cheer me up as well, knowing I actually have readers and I'm not simply writing to amuse myself. @_@ Tah.
