Summary: Elizabeth analyzes Jack's weathered footwear.
Notes: Constructive criticism welcome!

His boots suffer from cracked leather, she observes. The harsh waters of the sea seeped into the soles just as the pounding rain soaked into the dirt in her favorite flower garden. Sunlight has dried and cracked them just as it ruined the earth beneath her cherished lilies.

Her eyes roam over the contours of the masterfully crafted footwear - how each scuff dents the boot, giving it a certain character and life - how every scratch lends just a little bit of truth to his outrageous tales - oh, gods - how they reflect the very beauty of his face - the face she is studiously avoiding, in danger her eyes and blush-stained cheeks will drift to other masterfully crafted places.

She fears that the sun and the sea have finally cracked her, for, God help her, those boots are the only thing he's wearing besides the triumphant tilt of his golden smile.
