Ha ha my shoulder punched you!
Okay, I'll keep this brief as I can. Two weeks ago, there was some rain here in Houston. And it started flooding my apartment. I've had a problem with water coming into the closet since Valentine's Day, but the leasing office wouldn't do shit about it. So, two weeks ago, I wake up on Saturday just as the rain's starting, and I go check the closet. Then I spend about ten seconds panicking. Then, I start bailing it out with a bucket. Yeah, a bucket. It was bad.
Blah blah bullshit, I eventually got the complex to figure out that I had a SERIOUSLY OH SHIT FOR REAL problem, and they managed to get the keys to an upstairs apartment. We managed to move all of our stuff about fifty feet, and up a flight of stairs, in the pouring-ass rain, in about eight hours. A couple of her friends helped out with this, which is cool because I didn't have a phone number for anyone I could call in. Anyway, here's the good news: I still have a home, I'm getting a discount on the rent, I had almost nothing at all get damaged by the water (some old shoes I don't wear anymore got pretty soaked, and we had a lot of laundry to do {ew mildew gross} and that's it), and I am getting a couple other cool concessions. On the other hand, all of the light switches are on the opposite side of the doorways now, so I fumble like a retard everytime I just wanna turn on a light. Oh, and I pulled, strained or tore about four muscles during the move (oh god heaviest sleeper sofa in the fucking western hemisphere i swear to christ) and those sucked for a few days.
I'm going to be swinging by the old homestead in Richmond on Sunday to visit my mother and brother, see what's kicking. Mah brudda is trying to get a DnD game started up, and I'm increasingly thinking about actually playing in it. Someone got cold water or a swift kick in the ass to send my way? I should know better than this, but it's hard to convince myself sometimes.
This weekend, we're going to be hitting the thrift stores. May buy stuff, may not. It's fun just to look, ya know?
Oh, and I have decided to throw Bindusara a birthday party. I feel like I owe him one, dig? Anyhoo, that's all I got for now. Be cool to each other.
