long time, no update
its been a while since ive updated.
ive been straying from the computer in general, but i do try to keep up with my friends page when i can.
i think i feel guilty when i post, because its not all i want it to be. i love posting pictures and meaningful things, but it takes too much effort when im too busy doing "real life".
things are going well though. mary celebrated her 3rd birthday with a week packed full of parties - Champaign party on tuesday, cupcakes THREE times on thursday, and Chicago party on saturday of her birthday week. sheesh. Mary starts preschool at the Champaign PreK program on August 25th. im glad she got in, which means she will start getting some special help with her speech.
Cal is almost 10 months now, and while he is currently fighting off a fever, he generally is a very mild-mannered, happy little guy, and just broke his first two teeth on the bottom! He'll probably be walking by the end of the month too, he's very close.
Mark and I celebrated our 4th anniversary this week. I feel good that we made it to this point, after the events of the proceeding year have been unfavorable for this outcome. So, i am happy with that, and love him more than ever. we didnt do anything too special on our actual anniversary, but we are planning a weekend getaway trip for next weekend to Starved Rock state park, and neither of us have been. im really looking forward to that. it will be the first time we have spent a night away from the kids together. ever.
Looking very much forward to visitors this month. Beth comes at the end of August, but before then Erin and Ava will return for a week and a half, and Melinda is coming!! i can't wait. Also, my predecessor from my job, Francine, is coming to visit on Monday, and i'm thrilled to see her again. Also, my friend Thom from grad school is coming this week. He lived with me and Mark when we first got married for a couple of semesters. it'll be great catching up with him too. yay! it sucks that all of my friends move away, but i do love when they come to visit.
Not sure what else to say. I want to post a picture post of the fam, but i dont have time right now... I do tend to upload a lot of pictures to facebook, so if you are on there, just check 'em out.
