unexpected turn of events
well - i had my regular OB appointment today. When they checked my cervix the midwife said that she didnt think she felt the head down there. So, she wheeled in the ultra sound machine and Bam - right there at the top of my tummy is the baby's head, and the butt is engaged in my pelvis. great.
so, i am scheduled for a c-section on Monday morning. unless i go into labor on my own before then, in which case i have to go in immediately for a c-section. fun. its nice to know that the baby isnt coming Later than my due date, either way.
a little nerve racking to find this all out now, since apparently the baby has probably been in this position for quite some time, but i guess the way it is positioned was very difficult for the midwives to feel. but at the same time, i am very glad to know now, instead of going into labor and laboring for hours just to find out that i have to have a c-section in the end. ugg. i am a little nervous about the recovery, but i am really looking forward to meeting the baby and getting into the swing of motherhood.
