Make a Change a Week Challenge

Jan 06, 2009 19:18

I'm starting a challenge for myself this year because by the end of 2009 I hope to be a lot more organised than I am now. I'm going to be sort of plotting my progress here so I hope it isn't too tedious... if it looks like it will be I will use cuts and things. I was going to set myself fifty challenges and try to complete one each week (giving me ( Read more... )

i like this SO much better than the 101 challenge... Do you mind if i copy you (flattery, and all), and jump on the same band-wagon? I'll credit you cuz i'm like that... But my resolution this year is to be a better housewife, and something like this is exactly what i've been looking for to help me out.

Yeah definitely! We can help each other out and spur each other on :D

If I wasn't trying to limit my computer time I would so suggest making a community for this. I got the idea from a thread on a forum which was called "SAHMs Getting More Organised for 2009" :)

I suppose I could make a community anyway and ask for volunteers to help mod... *ponders*

Actually, do you mind if I ask in sept babies 08 if anyone would be interested in following the challenge and/or joining a community about it? I imagine a lot of new(ish) mums would find something like this a real help. If I thought a community would be active-ish, I would quite like to make one.

Go for it! We can do it as a community thing (like our weekly prompts which i'm epically failing at), or we can provide a link to a new comm once it's up and going.

I did think of just posting it in the community, but I think it would be too off topic and not everyone might be interested anyway.

Okay, just to find a name... do we want this to be mainly based on housework type goals, or anything? There are quite a few goal based communities around but the housework communities are all pretty general and just for tips and things or full of scary domestic goddesses - this one I envision as being more for the aspiring domestic goddess who finds it all a bit overwhelming?

Am I rambling?

domestic goddesses do scare me.
and no, you're not rambling ;)

um. i like the idea of aspiring domestic-ness (is that a word? i don't know).
god i suck at coming up with names for things...

Lol I decided on housetraining - I don't know if you have that saying in the US but sometimes we refer to housetraining a man who is not domestic in the slightest :) It's also our word for housebreaking (as in dogs) but I was going for the other use
