* Apparently stats were always intended as a paid/permanent feature, but when they were introduced the decision was made to allow (some? all?) account created before the December 2009 introduction to use them.
* Now that Google Analytics has been opened up to all account levels, My Stats is now fully limited to paid/permanent accounts only.
* Apparently they're also looking at other external stats systems that you can include in your journal.
