Talk about something you lost
"I can't stand ye anymore, Connor MacManus!" The door shut behind the redhead so roughly that it sent a photograph of some ancient-looking woman crashing to the ground. Hence the end of girlfriend number one.
"Get a fuckin' life and grow up while you're at it!" The tall blonde stormed away after a loud call-out in public.
"Yer turnin' into that brother of yours!" After a rough slap the mousy brunette was gone out of his life.
Connor MacManus had no lack of girls in his young adult life. They came and went easily: too easily. Girls wanted a wide array of things that he was not willing to offer nor sacrifice: simple thing, luxuries and (worst of all) constant attention. He was only sixteen years old and he could hardly get the things they were after for himself.
The boy along with his brother just attracted interest on the rare occasion that they left the house. Young girls in the neighborhood saw two young, healthy boys...they had no reason to look away. The pretty young girls would bat their eyelashes and try to drag the boys away from one another but the success rate of their plans was a failure more often than not. The polyglots with the fresh faces were soon revealed to have a streak of immaturity and strong tempers when they were together. The problem was it was impossible to separate the twins from one another. Their mother was an entirely different story when it came to bringing the girls over to the MacManus family home...
Every time one of these explosions occurred the young man could be found sitting on the rocky shore that was a thirty minute walk from the family abode. The spot was not hidden but the only one who would bother to find Connor was his brother. His goal was not to escape the world but to just find a place to think. When Murphy joined him on the beach the boys would toss flat-stones into the waves. They reminisced over all the flaws they had pointed out of the girls that had showed interest in them (mostly things they had already said to their faces hence why the explosions occurred): crooked knees, long noses, short legs and bushy eyebrows.
Over time it only seemed natural to seek friendship in men and only men. The crazed instinct men have to find a female to share their life with has deteriorated. Not that he was against women entirely...they simply failed to catch his eye like they used to ten years earlier. He managed to bag a few kisses and touch a thigh or two but never got further than that. With the Mission on his mind he only considers it another blessing...while his brother has taken a vow of chastity he has much less to distract him. If that wasn't enough surely his cause and family would drive any unsuspecting girl away.
