wrong table...
so most of the people i work with are out of the office today. so, i decided to go to lunch by myself for once. so i go to al's and i order my food and what not. i walk outside and all the tables were taken. i see a guy sitting by himself and i approach him and i ask him if he minds if i join him. not the best idea...
so i sit down with this rather built black male. i ask him his name and he says, in a booming voice, "mohamed!" i shake his hand and i tell him my name is aaron. (for those of you who don't know this ia a distinctly jewish name, aaron was moses' brother) the shaking ceases, he pauses still griping my hand, and stares at my for a second... and procedes to ignore me. i glanced over at the book he had with him entitled Message to the Blackman in America by Elijah Muhammad. I suspected that this book did not portray white people in the best of light... apon futher review i was indeed corect.

refusing to be intimidated, sat and ate lunch with him. i made attempts at small talk but he would only reply with one or two word answers... and while i was not talking he would just stare at me with a look like "i can't believe i am sitting with this cracker..." by far the most akward lunch experience of my life.
i am going to read this book. this Elijah Muhammad fellow was completely insane. he believes the nation of islam, which in his eyes are black people, is trillions of years old and that white people were created 6,000 years ago by some sort of mad scientist named "Yakub." wait... does he mean Jacob? Jacob the son of Issac, Issac the father of the Jewish nation and brother of Ishmael, Ishmael father of the Islamic nation. NONE OF WHICH WERE BLACK, OR EVEN WHITE FOR THAT MATTER!!! this guy is a lunatic... this is going to be an interesting read.
