re: Inoue

When I see people on deviantART saying things like "JAPAN DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ART", I can't help but feel like punching them.
Sure, the art doesn't do anything to keep anyone warm or fed or safe, but the emotional strength it gives is valuable too...

..... wtf is wrong with people OTL..... sigh.............. (sometimes i really really hate how rude Americans can get. =.=;;; )

They obviously can't understand the significance of emotional strength during tragedies. Japan is in the moment of unity. And i think all these little things are very beautiful.

Both community and individualism have their places...I think if this type of thing happened here, most people wouldn't react the way the Japanese have. In all the news coverage, I haven't heard one story of rioting, looting, violence, etc. I'm sure somebody there has tried to take advantage of the situation somehow, but the scale is much less than I would expect if it happened here.

i won't say one is better than the other, just that i usually am slightly more on the 'individualism' side because i'm too americanized OTL but yes, overall there were less looting and less violence compared to what could have happened. And for that, i'm grateful for the mindset that the majority of Japanese had during this tragedy.

i'm happy to know that there's been no looting and no violence. well i can't say 'none' but at least it's a much lower scale.

yeah when people are running away from tsunami, i don't think many ppl would have tried to help a random animal orz.

Have to admit I pretty much admire the Japanese people even more now.
Always liked that aspect of them, even where I live where the whole community thing is still rather strong things like that wouldn't have happened.

Heard about the stories of yakuza helping out? Giving shelters to people, food and the likes? I was in awe and I have to admit I fangirled quite a bit /shot

Oh, and Inoue, his portraits are amazing (his artystyle is amazing in general too but his portaits left me speechless <3)

Totally. I've never witnessed such in my life before.
I'm amazed, and impressed and totally admirative and pretty much in love.

Wonderful, glad to know I'm not alone.
Still, that's not helping my obsession
