Feedback from ABMA31

Sep 29, 2008 10:51

Friday: September 26, 2008. At the last minute, while I was on my way home with my ABMA74 kids (Red, Miel, Louie), I decided to drop by Glorietta to grab some dinner and shoot hoops in Timezone. I ran into Camille and Jorell in Glorietta and joined them. Kit and Diane arrived a few minutes later.

I had much fun reconnecting. I remember that I had the most difficulty with their section, considering handling ABMA50s and 40s before them seemed like a breeze. It took me a while to understand why. They were already disillusioned from the lack of proper training and back then, they were almost hostile when it came to talking about their previous professors.  And then there I was, expecting them to be as trained as the 40s and the 50s, whom I've handled in many foundation subjects. To the ABMA30s, it must have seemed like I asked for the sun and the moon. (Well, come to think of it, I was. LOL.)

The strain was burdened by my thesis and the fact that I felt like CSB's dean probably thought that I was spying on CSB for APC's benefit. (I did teach in APC first, since I got my second degree and my master's from APC.) But that particular term was character-building. I suspect, not only for me, but for them as well. I think we both learned a lot about ourselves. I was actually surprised by their incredible resourcefulness. I have never encountered a batch that's as resourceful as the 30s. I guess that happens when you've been deprived of so much?

Fast forward to the dinner. I loved their feedback, most of them being quite hilarious...BUT OH SO TRUE! The moment I handled their batch, I already knew changes had to be made from the ground up. I just didn't know back then that I'd end up to be the one implementing those changes. I'm so glad Robert and I have good chemistry so we get things done with relative ease (well, we're experiencing birthing pains right now but I know it's going to be worth it).

I'm happy that Jorell and Kit are finally taking extra classes so that they could pursue their passion. And the girls? Camille and Diane have always been conscientious in whatever it is they do so I don't doubt that they're doing well. Diane is still with the same company she first got into, while Camille has just boarded a new one.

To the future graduating batches: PLEASE don't forget to leave your evaluations when asked. We do aim to be a school that the ABMA30s -- and future ABMAs -- can be proud of.

no, may exit evaluation kasi yang mga graduates. it talks about the school in general and if they have any suggestions for improvement para sa future students. they were really honest and upfront about their evaluations (ganyan talaga ang batch nila), eh di ko pa naman nababasa yun at that time kasi part-timer ako, so sinabi lang nila sakin recently.

sobrang nakakatawa comments pero sad din at the same time kasi di sila nakinabang sa mga new things na nae-enjoy niyo ngayon.
