June 15th is a special day for me. Why? Because it's the birthday of my good friend, Bingqian! It's very easy to remember his birthday, because it's exactly 3 months after mine's! Happy Birthday Bingqian! Here's dedicating this blog entry to you! May you soar to greater heights in every aspect of your life and excel in everything you do! Don't lose that zeal for anything you're doing! Hope you're enjoying your birthday!
I just managed to watch the Lake House on DVD while I was having lunch, and it reaffirmed my opinion that the movie was a good movie! I like the feel of it, like how it's mellow and soft, not raging passion after having been through some turbulent situation. It's surprising how well I manage to remember June 15th for these past 3 years, so after watching the Lake House, I thought, why not do a recap as well of what happened these past 3 years on June 15th?
June 15th 2006
Nothing much happened on this day. There was nothing particularly stunning, it was like a usual day. I remember I was in front of my laptop, talking to Jeremy Ang about 12SLC and trying to help him sort out how he felt. Other than that, nothing much. Just a typical day. And that the 11SLC OT (our juniors) were all mad about how it was 11SLC's "1 year anniversary".
June 15th 2005
It was the 3rd day of 11SLC, and I was around in school looking at the country assemblies and bloc assemblies. It was this day that Rui An managed to do more capturing of our cute "child prodigies" from India and I managed to capture a lot of those "classic 11SLC" shots of the assemblies! See, I made it a point to take more photos for my juniors (because I was afraid they wouldn't have any photos to look at if they were suffering from post SLC depression!)
Child Prodigy No. 1: 小黑! (That's the nickname we gave him, by the way.)
I bet 小黑 must be drawing a happy family picture on the notepads!
While 小黑 was the centre of attraction for most of the time during assemblies (since he couldn't sit still and was always playing), I think we seemed to have neglected our other child prodigy!
Child Prodigy No. 2: 小甜甜! (Check out her pink school bag and her packet of munchies on the desk!)
Isn't she just adorable, leaving sweet wrappers behind all the time for us to clean up?
Since 小甜甜 was always in need of attention, we delegated an important person to look after her!
Meet Peter Wong! Her 奶妈!
Oh, and then there were numerous scandalous photos taken on that day!
Grace, till this very day, still claims she was not looking at Yi Cheng in this photo. We know better.
Aw! How sweet! Jiawen and Lujie sorting out photos TOGETHER! Senior and Junior Bonding!
This next photo is a total shocker! Not suitable for ages under 18! Are you ready to see it?
This photo is entitled "I don't know what the hell they are doing". Isn't that MISS SENG'S handbag?
Of course, with the scandalous, comes some of the most memorable photos from the convention!
I'm sure you all definitely remember this shot, don't you?
Choon Yen and Jiawen!
Can you spot our 小甜甜 with her cute pigtails in the bottom right of this photo?
The smily version of the Concept Team photo!
The ultra dao version of the Concept Team photo! (What's Anna doing? Smiling?!)
The "We love Jerry Hong" version of the Concept Team photo!
The original Logistics Committee photo (before a trophy of someone was digitally added in!)
The 11SLC logistics committee! (Rui An looks like a chipmunk here!)
There was a bitchy plan conjured by Rui An and I to take photos of sleeping participants during the convention to be put up at the finale! As retribution! Which of course we didn't do so at the end, but it got participants to put on their best when we took the photos! Nonetheless ...
If you don't call this sleeping, I don't know what you call it!
Another angle of our sleeping delegate from India!
Even more sleepy heads!
Oh, there was one exception though. And it's none other than ...
Sua Yu! Who fell sound asleep by the end of the day ...
Of course, this being June 15th, we didn't forget to celebrate both Bingqian's and Jijo's birthdays!
The birthday candles in the dark!
Our birthday boys and the cake!
A photo of the cake!
Oh, there was another cake as well, but that one served the purpose to feed everyone!
This is how the current SNR head (Stanley) and Vice-President (Shi Wei) of the 34SC look back then!
Papa Sin Hwee was still talking about work with the concept team!
The Concept team, especially Yan Han, looking OBVIOUSLY bored. (By Sin Hwee perhaps?)
Meanwhile, sweetie pie Rui An was taking bitchy photos!
All these photos do bring back a truckload of memories, don't they? The rest of the photos I took on this day are uploaded
here.
June 15th 2004
It was the 2nd day of XSLC, and on this day, we took the most important photo that is still pinned up on my wall, the XSLC OT photo!
Here we are! This was how we looked exactly 3 years ago! Any of us look any different?
The 1st informal shot! (We were all looking at the other camera except Sin Hwee and Charmaine!)
Our 2nd informal shot! (The memory of this shot is still so vivid!)
Oh, and then there were those that were absent from this shot, who were Kai Han (who was overseas doing something) and Chen Yang (who was also overseas)! Hey Chen Yang, I didn't forget that you were once part of the OT as well! Hehe!
It's amazing when you look back, I don't think you even recognise yourself in the picture! Hehe, most of us have ended up in Hwa Chong (which means we'll miss you Tiffany, Janice, Xin Ying and Florence!), and I think most of us have found our place in our CCAs! It surprises me to note that most of us are also probably holding onto some position in the executive committee of our CCA! I guess probably this was one of the places where we all got nurtured to become a leader of some sorts, and we have all progressed from there on! Talking of which, here are even more photos to trigger more memories!
This was how Sua Yu looked 3 years ago! Cute right?
Greg (Mr. Baldie) helping Sophia out with the tea break munchies!
Oh yeah, Greg looked like this 3 years ago! Look! He's not even wearing ankle songs!
I was really surprised when I saw this next photo! I think you'll be in for a shock too!
Nicholas Lim and Ang Tze Siong! Oh yeah, this was how they looked 3 years ago on this very day!
Tze Siong's committee!
There are a few more photos taken by Mediatech (Does that name ring a bell?) and they are uploaded
here.
Oh yar, XSLC OT, do you people remember these terms, HRC, PSC, ESC and WHO? Don't they sound very familiar? I think we've heard them for over a thousand times when we were doing XSLC! By the way, I don't think we celebrated Bingqian's birthday that night, since we were all too busy. We postponed it to the following night, where we got him a proper birthday cake! And in case we didn't have one for him, we made him one! Using paper plates!
June 15th does bring along with it many memories, don't you think? It's amazing how time flies and how much people have changed! Haha, right now I can only revel in nostalgia. Really hope I can go back to those times again!
