Arts Mania Part 1: Arts Fest

May 30, 2007 22:05

These two weeks are like the most artsy weeks in my whole life! First of course, there's Arts Fest (which was last wednesday), then there's choir's Cantare and the string ensemble's Last Round! I've kind of adopted Helen's philosophy that pictures speak better than words, so this post has the component of photospam!

Well, Arts Fest meant something to me I guess. Ok, though on that day itself, it felt as though it was the 20th night of Dance Night (like it had been dragged out so long that we all got bored of it), but I think we all knew that this could possibly be the last time we did our SYF piece together. This would indefinitely signal the end of us J2s getting another go at performing in front of a live audience, and that it was time to say goodbye and handover. Moreover, the whole SYF closing thing is too iffy as of the moment to yield any form of reliable news, so in a way, yar, we were performing this for the very last time.

Everything's really a flash this time round. It's like deja vu after Dance Night, not to mention there was that disgusting "Best of SYF" banner. Still, I love the lights, and even more so, the choreography. Dan's choreography never ceases to amaze, and this one's one of the rare ones by which you can do it over and over again, yet finding new things about it to feel for. I was rather disappointed that the umbrella fell, as with many others, but I'm glad it fell in an artistic manner (It won't have worked out anyway with the banner, which totally ruined the whole emotional feel there was to the dance) so it gave more interpretation to our dance. I have friends who say they're still wowed by it even though it was their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th time seeing it.

I love my peers and juniors, all of us who have been through this journey together. I don't want dance to end so quickly, but I guess all things have to come to an end, talking about which M.A.D elections are around the corner, so I guess it's time to let go. Juniors, jia you for elections! I know the process does seem daunting, but just keep in mind that no matter how scary things might get, we'll always be behind you all! (Yup, even though we might even be the people who throw questions at you, but at the end of it all, we're still going to give you the support!)

With that, it's time to spam photos and videos of Arts Fest!
