Have you ever had to tell a middle-aged women that the chocolate and mint brownie she's been looking forward to for a year or more is sold out? If you have (and if you're lucky, you haven't) you know it generally isn't a good experience for anyone involved, least of all yourself. Sometimes the idea of "not killing the messenger" gets lost on some people. And luckily, I got to tell hundreds of women this. The $6.90/hour I get paid isn't enough to put my life on the line when I kill these women's sugar buzzes (I have no clue how grammatically correct that is). And it's definitely not enough for me to put up with their attitude, when I can't go make more brownies for them even if I wanted to, which after being subjected to their volatile de-chocolatification, I do not.
Something else to wax obnoxious about - I drove up to Salt Lake, which took over an hour, and learned that Utah drivers are the least gracious drivers I have ever seen. They drive fast, slow, medium, but they all seem to have forgotten how to show appreciation when you go out of your way to either let them in, or accomodate them in some way. I'm not asking for accolades, for my picture on a billboard and a list of my best attributes (a billboard simply isn't big enough). A simple handwave is enough for me to understand you noted that me helping you get what you wanted required some help from me, and you appreciated it. Then again, I may not want them taking any hands off of the wheel - if they have any on there to begin with.
People are the only thing going right now, and speaking of people, I should do more with them.
Friday (afternoonish?) - Arrested Development?
Perhaps a lovely picnic on Saturday. Bikes, kites, etc?
