He is idly reading a tarot spread.

And he smiles.

There is the expected knock on his door.

When the door opens, Námo is glowering at Ruin.

This... thing... with his lover's face.

But it didn't feel like Gorlim, and that's what hardened his determination.

"You made him a new bargain, now you will make me one."

Ruin crosses his arms.

"Will I? Why would I do that?"

The card is not the least bit intimidated by the Vala. This being can do nothing to him, just as he can't do anything to Námo. Not... really.

"Because whatever game you are seeking to play, it involves hurting him both mentally and physically. If it was not, you would not have demanded he be mentally present for your twisted fun."

Námo swallows whatever fear he may be feeling.

"What do you want? What is it I have that will remove some time from his debt to you?"

Ruin seems to consider.

But Ruin always knows what he wants.

"You."

His jaw clenches.

"Me doing what?"

"You. One night that he is here. From dusk until the dawn breaks. For whatever I want. However I want. And you will both agree. If either of you don't fulfill that demand, then the deal is broken and I will go for the most vulnerable of you lot."

And his voice is like ice.

"You agree to that, Vala, and I will free him from ten days. He will only be mine for two weeks."

He stares into those eyes.

Eyes that had looked at him filled with tears the previous night.

Eyes that would look at him filled with tears again tomorrow night.

Eyes he would do anything for. Would give anything to protect.

"One night. Dusk to dawn. We are yours, together, that one night and you remove ten days?"

"That is the bargain I am offering you, Námo," Ruin says, his hand on the door. "Take it or leave it."

The word that comes from his mouth is firm, cold, and final.

"Yes."

The bargain accepted.

The deal done.

And the Vala turns, walking back toward the stairs, composed, his head high.

Ruin laughs, triumphant, and slams the door.

Oh, that will be one night he will savour.
