Grim Satisfaction

I've been skulking around my favorite D&D website for a few days now, and I recalled that I had briefly played in a Play by Post game early last year. The game was pretty-much combat only, which at the time I didn't mind. But the environment between the GM and the players was pretty combative. I'm not sure if it was the twinked-out players making the GM really adversarial, or if the GM just was a dick and wanted to flex his online God-mode. I bowed out with a small explanation, being polite and not trying to cause too many waves.

I went back to the forum today to see if they were still going, and alas, the game collapsed upon itself about a month after I was gone. A shame. *grin*

I wonder if this was a contributing factor to my distance from gaming last year?
