Random Rui notes from his R&R - we still haven't forgotten his blog Q&A.. thanks for your patience ^^

✩ Between one and a half / two years old Rui had Kawasaki disease and was hospitalized for one month.
✩ Rui says he doesn't remember his disease. But he does remember being hospitalized and he would cry when his parents would come to visit.
✩ Rui lived in America because of his father's job.
✩ Rui says he's from Chiba but he's actually born in Yokohama.
✩ Rui went to elementary school in San Francisco.
✩ Rui lived in San Francisco for about 4 yrs.
✩When Rui came back to Japan, he couldn't understand japanese that well because in America they wanted him to learn english so he couldn't speak japanese (while he was in America)
✩ When Rui was a child, he would mountain bike and go play at the park with his friends. He says he never stayed home and played video games.
✩ Rui is an only child.
✩ Rui says his parents were strict. If he didn't clean up his toys, he didn't get to eat.
✩ Rui used to listen to Madonna when he was young, only because it was popular at the time.
✩ Rui had fun living in America and when it was time to go back to Japan, he told his parents "I don't wanna go!"
✩ During his 2nd-3rd year in elementary (in Japan) his teacher didn't like him and bought everyone gifts except for him.
✩ Rui started soccer during elementary, he had practice after school and in the morning. He says "All I did was soccer"
✩ Rui was in the soccer club.
✩ Rui forgot english by the time he was in junior high.
✩ Rui first discovered music during junior high.
✩ Rui thought people who could play guitars were cool.
✩ Rui started buying CDs during 1st year of junior high.
✩ Rui had zero motivation for school, he didn't attend class and had really bad grades.
✩ Rui once had a soccer scholarship but he quit soccer and didn't use it.
✩ Rui eventually quit school but when his mother got cancer, he started to change his life around and started school again and got a job.
✩ Rui lived alone for a while because his mother was hospitalized and his father worked far away from home.
✩ Rui discovered bass by chance. He was at his friends house and no one was playing it, so he decided to try it and it was fun!
✩ Rui says he was always interested in Luna Sea's J-san.
✩ Rui was once a guitarist, but it didn't feel right so he left the band.
✩ Rui became serious about playing bass when he was 18 years old.
✩ Rui once gave up on being in bands until his mother told him three days before she passed away to "do whatever you want and to do your best at it."
