“I consider myself more an artist than a regular magazine photographer - I strive to get a different perspective in my pictures, rather than just reproduce the show. This I consider a very hard thing to do, since concert photography is by nature limited to a rather narrow viewpoint. I’m interested in capturing the emotion and energy of talented artists and their audiences. I like to explore the connection between the band and the fans, how the fans feed the band with their energy and how emotions are exchanged between these two. I’m mostly drawn to small, dark clubs since it is there where the band and their fans truly communicate. Large arenas will inevitably put a distance between them.”
