Today I made double batches of sugar cookies with really great colored sugars, snickerdoodles, chocolate chips, oatmeal raisin, and molasses cookies. Nearly eight dozen of each type. I'm kind of tired. Its the standing around the mixer and the stove that can wear you out. I'll probably make a few sour cream cakes tomorrow, and then we have a big Christmas breakfast, that will be the last things we do in the present kitchen. Hopefully in the next two or three months this old kitchen will come down and a new one will take its place, twice as big, and way shiny. Next year all my cookies will come from a brand new oven, and a big roomy counter area. I really cant wait till its finished and there's still a week before its gets started.
Just as cool, we will be building a new large bedroom over top of the kitchen. This is an old house and for the whole time we have lived here our bedroom has been just about big enough to contain our king size bed and two bureaus. The new bedroom will be about three times that size plus the original space. I'm not sure what we will doing with all that room, but it should be fun figuring it out :)
If anyone is even slightly interested I'll have the store cam on,on yahoo, for most of the day Monday. That's the store Christmas party. This is where about 60 percent of the cookies I bake get eaten, and in case that isnt enough sugar for our customers I have about five cases of Coke in the eight ounce bottles. I usually find the special Christmas bottles and we give them away so that customers go away with a collectible gift. This year I have both the Santa bottles and the 1889 replica bottles. The latter is the first bottle that Coca-Cola was ever sold in. Anyway we'll all be hanging around for four of five hours eating cookies and pizza, and drinking Coke,so that cam can be nothing but truly interesting :P I might not always be near my monitor, but for those who leave messages I do check it a couple time every hour and will post you back when I see yours.
