telling a white lie every once in a while is something that everyone does, and it doesn't matter because it really does no harm (hence the name "white lie"). lying on a regular/daily basis, however, is pretty much inexusable past 4th grade.
gossip is something that happens and will always happen. people will always talk about people. it is in our nature. there is a fine line between telling a story and gossiping. there is no law on what is other people's business and what isn't. but people that make shit up about other people just for spite... yeah, obviously i have a problem with that. but i would say that's more like lying... wouldnt you?
perhaps you are right. but like there is a difference between habitually lying and telling innocent white lies, there is a difference between gossiping and spreading farfetched rumors about people you don't even know...
and well, i guess that is what i really hate.
i think it's worse than lying about something having to do with one's self. i mean really, there's no law on what is one person's "business", but i don't think anyone should feel ethical about saying unfounded and malicious things behind someone's back.
