The Chase pt. 7
(Scene begins at the party, shows Jessika and her group of friends
Jessika: Did you talk to Alexa?
Girl 1: Of course, she seemed really nice. She said that she planned on coming with Tommy.
Jessika: That is what Tommy said in class.
Girl 1: I told her I would tell her more about him at the party.
Jessika: What are you going to tell her?
Girl 1: That I heard that he is a player and you two have a long and interesting past. You just have to make it seem like what I am saying is true.
Jessika: No prob. I love being evil.
Girl 1: There she is right there, with some guy. (trying to see who the guy is)
(They all realize that it is Tommy)
Girl 1: Even if the bet was still on you would be out, he is a hottie now.
(Girl 1 grabs Alexa away from Tommy and Jessika hugs Tommy)
Jessika: Oh my gosh, you are a total hottie!
Tommy: Thanks, so what did you want to talk about? I figured that we should get this out of the way so I can enjoy myself.
Jessika: I just wanted to apologize, what if I introduced you to everyone. That would show that I am not ashamed of you. (grabs his hand and they go sit down) Listen I am being totally serious, and I am never serious so this is something huge. I really like you; I didn’t expect this to happen to me. Yes, it started off as a bet first. Then I noticed how genuine you are, how everything is so simple for you. I always wanted someone who I could just be me with. That is who you met; nobody really knows that I have anything to do with Art Club. (she sits closer to him)
(conversation between Girl 1 and Alexa)
Girl 1: Hey girl!
Alexa: (wierded out) Hi…
Girl 1: Nice upgrade on Tommy, I always knew he had hottie in him.
Alexa: I didn’t do anything we went to the mall and he picked out the clothes. I just brought him here. (looking for Tommy) Where did Tommy go?
Girl 1: (points to Tommy who is with Jessika) He is over there with Jessika.
Alexa: What is he doing over there?
Girl 1: You don’t know about him? He is the biggest player in the school, he doesn’t seem like it but that is how he gets all of his girls. Sadly, he now has Jessika. They have had something for a while now. They just cannot call it quits with each other. It sort of is cute.
Alexa: (still looking over at them) Really, I would have never figured.
(Back to Tommy and Jessika)
Tommy: What are you saying?
(Jessika kisses Tommy and Alexa sees it)
Jessika: I want to be with you.
Tommy: (smiles) Really?
Jessika: (smiles back) Really.
(Tommy walks away)
(Girl and Alexa)
Girl 1: Told you girl, they have a past.
(Alexa walks off into a room; she sits down on a bed and puts her head into her hands.)
Alexa: (to herself) I am so stupid, how could I fall for him?
(Shows Tommy walking around the crowd of people asking if they have seen Alexa. Someone points him where she is. Tommy walks into the room and sits next to her)
Tommy: What is wrong?
Alexa: Like you don’t know.
Tommy: Don’t know what?
Alexa: You and Jessika’s past.
Tommy: Past? We definitely do not have a past; she played me for a fool.
Alexa: Like you are playing me?
Tommy: I am not playing you who told you anything about Jessika and I?
Alexa: That really does not matter; you are trying to get the best of both worlds. Newbie Alexa and school known Jessika. You know what you can have her. (Gets up and walks out the room)
END SCENE
(Tommy is sitting in his room pacing back and forth. He grabs his phone and calls Alexa it goes to the voicemail)
Tommy: You have to believe me I have no idea what you were talking about. I did like her but she was doing a bet with her and her group of plastics bimbos. I met you and you are so…perfect. No that’s the wrong word…oh! Not saying that you aren’t amazing because you are. (pause) What I am trying to say that I care for you and want you to believe me. Just meet me at the park tomorrow at four. Just for thirty minutes. Bye. (hangs up the phone)
(Tommy flops on his bed and his mom opens the door)
Mom: What is wrong baby?
Tommy: Nothing Mom.
Mom: Alritey then. (closes the door)
(phone rings and Tommy snatches it and answers the phone)
Tommy: Hello!
Charlie: (whispering but there is a woman moaning in the background) Dude I am doing it!
Tommy: What?
Charlie: Don’t you hear her in the background. Here listen (moaning gets louder than gets quieter) did you hear that. We are actually having sex and it is amazing!
Tommy: I don’t think you should be talking to me about this. What if she sees you on the phone?
Charlie: She can’t hear me because her she is moaning too loud and she is wearing a blind fold. I think I love this lady.
Tommy: How long have you known this one? No let me guess thirty seconds.
Charlie: It is your teacher, I am still talking to her and she is great.
Tommy: I still don’t know what is more weird, the fact that you called me while having sex or that I am still talking to you while you are having sex.
Charlie: I can’t answer that question for you but I think I am going to propose to her. Talk to you later bye.
Tommy: Bye. (puts the phone back on the table and the phone rings again and he answers it quickly) Hello!
Jessika: You sound excited to talk to me.
Tommy: Oh, it is just you.
Jessika: Just me. How can you go excited to disappointed?
Tommy: I thought that this call might be someone else.
Jessika: That new girl, she is cute what happened to you guys?
Tommy: Someone told her false information. I do not know who but when I find out I will have some things to tell that person.
Jessika: (acting like she is interested) What did they say to her?
Tommy: That we have some long and complicated past and Alexa is just the rebound girl until we get back together.
Jessika: (still acting) That is insane.
Tommy: I know right.
Jessika: We would have to date first, how about this weekend we hang out? You can get your mind off of sad things and on something as incredible as me.
Tommy: Narcissism nice, promise you will not stop at every mirror to look at yourself?
Jessika: I cannot make any promises, but I will give it a try.
Tommy: That is all I can ask for, you know why do you let those barbies swindle you into being someone you are not?
Jessika: I guess it is peer pressure; they were all doing it so I did it. I am so use to being mean and not caring about other people’s feelings. Now I actually care about you and you should know that I will do anything to prove to you that I like you.
Tommy: Like eat a chocolate covered grasshopper?
Jessika: Why would you want me to eat a chocolate covered grasshopper?
Tommy: That is not what I said I asked you if you would eat one?
Jessika: Sure why not, I am sure that all you can taste is chocolate. I know that I don’t have to worry, what store has chocolate grasshoppers?
Tommy: There is one.
Jessika: (worried) What? That isn’t funny. Meet me at the mall tomorrow six-ish.
Tommy: Fine.
Jessika: Great, bye.
Tommy: Bye
