You've got a talent, Becky, an overwhelmingly astounding ability to make characters that can capture an audience's heart without them being the creators themselves. I think ultimately, although you write very well, that it is your characters that carry your stories through, and that is a very good thing.
You're also a very sweet girl; one of the sweetest people I know, and I will always remember when you came to my house and tried ootoro and all that other stuff, haha. (And oh god, boy am I ever still sorry about my dad and that bottle of beer. For what it's worth, I think they were just trying to get rid of it. They don't drink, and even game me two cases of Heineken when I was in college for the heck of it.)

It is an insane pleasure to be able to have friends like you who I can talk to regularly about writing, and who encourage me to do so. Despite my attention to art, writing is like a little plant I'm sheltering from everything and the fact you want to pay it any attention is such a compliment that I doubt I'll ever be able to properly thank you.
I wish one day to keep my promises and draw everything I said I would, because you as a person are worth it, and so are your delicious brain children.
And by delicious brain children, I mean I promise not to eat them.
Did I mention I cannot wait to have everything in order for Tokyo so I can finally meet you and then proceed to embarrass you by being a total tourist

Some things special about you from the get-go: • You're the first person I've ever met face-to-face that I first met on the internet. It could've turned out awkward or bad, but it was awesome--awesome enough for me to want to kick back a couple hundred so I could visit you back. And I hope that I can do it again eventually. • You're one of the few 'net friends I've stayed in contact with for so long. Usually interests wax and wane and it gets hard to talk about things and all that stuff, but I've never gotten tired of chatting with you. There's very few people on my stupid-huge aim list that I'll actually log on for, but you're one of them.
That said, you're one of the strongest and most substantial friends that I have right now--ever, at all. I respect your ability to be so rooted, especially in situations that are difficult to handle. You've always tried to relay that sense of confidence to me when I'm flailing around like an idiot, too, which is something I don't get much
