Not just the voices (though they win), but the mental images of the actors behind them.
Ah, one funny story. You know, Hugh Jackman's from Australia, right? Well, I've always loved the X-Men variety (Marvel mutant comics). In particular, I have always been rather fond of certain characters, like Storm, Kuirt, Hank, and Logan. One incarnation, in particular, of an X-Men animated series, te VA interpretted Logan as having an Australian accent. So, I still can't help giggling sometimes, because the one guy who did Logan with an Australian accident apparently had a problem when it came to doing an Australian accent, but Hugh Jackman, IMO, had no problem with a passable Canadian accent. Of course, you're actually from Canada, right? So I don't know if he would have passed there, but for me, he was an Australian who managed, plausibly, to actually sound more North-Americanish than that noe VA sounded Australianish, fi you know what I mean. Plus, his Logan...he very much looked the part. For once, they made a good choice. Actually, they did a fair job of casting, for the first movie. The others were oaky too, but the first in a series always makes the largest impression.
Being french canadian, I'm actually pretty bad at spotting a good english canadian accent. My poor ears aren't that sharp. Unless you're from the maritimes. Newfoundland Wolverine anyone?
If Kate Beaton had been Wolverine, I certainly would have spotted it right away, ha! Sorry for being away from LJ for so long. I really had not much to share.
