a couple days behind
okay so first and foremost, james and sharon had their baby on monday! for those of you that don't know them...james is a friend of nate's who lives with my family and sharon is his gf. anyway, their little baby girl was born at 1:15 pm on monday, they named her paige isabella t'marah mackenzie hysell (yes, i know, four names is cruel) and she weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20 1/2 inches long! she has more hair than cordelia and it's dark dark brown and she seems oh so tiny! if i get some pictures i'll post them, she should be getting out of the hospital today!
so second i guess would be sunday which was my first day of work at the marriott! it was supposed to be friday but it was slow so was called off fri and sat, oh well. i learned all the basics of how to read the computer, where to pick up clients, how to sign up for a room, set up and leave a room and a little about pay. then i went to work! usually i'll work from 2-7 but i had to go in early for training so i worked 12-7 instead. i had four massages and two hour breaks. that was nice though cuz one was in the middle and i was hungry! the other one was the last time slot of the day so i got to just go home. it went well, i had one swedish massage and three therapeutic. i make a base pay of 7.25/hr plus commission for each treatment and tips. so for swedish i make an extra $18, for therapeutic and most body treatments (exfoliations, wraps etc) i make an extra $21. so my first massage i got 25.25 plus an automatic gratuity so i dunno what i got for that, my second was 28.25 plus a 15 dollar tip, my third was the same but a 26 dollar tip and my fourth was also the same but a 25.50 tip. that was pretty sweet, for those last two hours i made like $54/hr! :) plus my last client was from syracuse and was in on business- what're the odds!? it was a pretty good day! last tuesday i trained on exfolilations and baths, this tuesday i learned wraps so i get to practice those w/the other girls i trained with then when i feel comfortable they'll start scheduling me for them too. hopefully i'll stay busy over the weekends cuz as long as i'm busy i'm making good money! (much better than at the chiropractor, today i had a whole three massages- woooo.) so that's my schpeal on the marriott! apparantly i get really awesome discounts and benefits and stuff too but i won't learn about it until i go to orientation in february.
