Everyone must see the trans siberian orchestra

Yes I know I never update, but anyway I went to see the TSO last night, and they were soooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing. Much better then I expected (and I expected them to be pretty good). So I just had to gush some.

First, saw that at Cox Arena, which is a fairly small venue, I was off to the side but only 8 rows up, so rather rather close, got to see what people looked like, like the cute guitar player :) always a plus.

Anyway, first half the show they tell a story. They mix in songs to go with the story, lots of cool lights, snow falls from the sky, the story is cute (supposdly they do the same one each year). Second half they just play music.

As for the music, there needs to be more rock instrumentals in this world. I mean theres just so much power and life to it. I am big on words, can only tolerate classical in short short doses, but this had the life to carry itself. There were a couple songs with words mixed in as well, but let me tell you the band can play. Its hard to describe but the music really carried itself, even songs I didn't know where very easy to get into (something thats harder i think in your standard singing concert, where emphasis just seems to fall on the words)

Some highlights
-They do the little preencore good bye, then the guys like you know what i'm to tired and old to walk back stage and then come back here, so why don't we just cut to the case and play a copule more songs.
-Last song, they violen player on speed (it was the head string person she didn't do the sitting still thing), starts walking around the stadium, she stayed mostly on the floor, but did come up the stairs right by me briefly, very cool, then she goes to the back of the stadium, well I was focused on this, how cool it was she came so close when I realize cute guitar player was with her... he went around the other side of the stadium, how dare he. So they spent some time on the back on this elevated platform, then went back to the front, he came through my side this time :) even though he very much did not go up the stairs by me :(

So i'm not obsessed w/ TSO, i was hoping they'd be playing back east when I was there for the holidays, but no such luck, I need to wait till next year I guess. I did buy a program and shirt at the concert (very rare for me, i haven't brought a single thing at either u2 concert i went to), then brought the CD/DVD box set this morning. I'm going to put myself in the poor house.

But yea TSO amazing, rest of my life fairly boring
