About 4 days ago, a fan game development group called A.U.D. Studios publically released the latest demo version (v0.4.633) of a project of theirs called
MegaMan New Horizon, with the studio mainly run by Lysekoid, Grenzenlos and Zoberraz. What exactly is it? I believe that Lysekoid can explain that better than I do:
Megaman New Horizon is a fan-based game project developed by Alternate Universe Design Studios for Game Boy Advance. Megaman New Horizon brings you to a whole new world, far, far away from Earth, where new adventures await our reploid hero Mega Man X. At the beginning of the game Mega Man X finds himself at the beginning of the Great War. Huge maverick forces are attacking Elysium, the capital of New Horizon. But even though the hour is dark and the circumstances are desperate, Mega Man X is ready to fight once more to fulfil the promise of a better tomorrow.
I've actually heard of this project about 2 years ago, back when a demo with only cinematics were available, but there were no trace of Zero on that one (not that I can remember anyways). Either way, this is a platform game similar to the Rockman X and Zero series (mostly Zero), and so far, the control scheme, character movement and animations are pretty decent.
The stage layout and visuals are top-notch gorgeous and pretty well-made even run on GBA engine. The music (which is provided by Heat Man from
Atomic Fire, Joakim Mnsson and
Andre Medeiros) is well-suited for the different parts of the game's areas. Also, the sprite and environment graphics were done by Zan Sidera, Blackbeltdude & Robert Oakes (among others that pitched in as well). I raise my wine-glass for you all.
I can note though that some of the sprite movement and animation speed rates when you run normally, climb walls or dash needs to be raised up equal to how Capcom's official games handles that type of movements. The Buster is a bit weak and slow as well, but then again, this is just a demo. Add more enemies than usuall and a Charge Up feature for the Buster and this game will have a good balance in both difficulty and possibly control maneuverability.
To download the demo, please
click here and for recommendations, I suggest you get the one that contains music (unless they release a newer version that doesn't have music in the first place). *smiles*

Hellcry Lional (Moderate NPC)
Height: 7'6"
Gender: Male
Weapon: Saber Claws
Profile:
The Lion of Ziridia, Hellcry Lional was quite possibly the boldest and brightest son his nation ever produced. A fighter of great fury, Lional had no life except for combat. To him, there was nothing more the world had to offer.
It came as little surprise when Lional turned Traitor of his own free will, simply for the sheer pleasure of combat for combats sake, turning on his former allies and slaughtering them like animals.
Cold and calculating, his attitude belies the fury he unleashes once fighting begins, fighting less like a thinking being and more like an animal.
