Hello,
I am mailing you a message to ask for your support in a very special cause.
My name is Cody, I have three family members with diabetes, my mother, grandmother, and uncle. I have been at risk for juvenile diabetes since I was an infant. The people working with/for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International have been searching for a cure for people such as my friends with diabetes, and for a prevention for the ones with high risk to the disease. Walk to Cure Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country. The goal: To raise $86 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. I am asking you the best way I know how, with the help and support of our country along with others, JDRF, will find cures. In saying that I ask for your support once again...Many lives could be saved as thanks for the one dollar bill in your back pocket.
Please visit my Walk Web page if you would like to donate online or see how close I am to reaching my personal goal:
http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=86354948 The following information is from JDFR research.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people--a large and growing percentage of them children.
Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.
That's the bad news... and yes, it's pretty bad.
The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.
Thank you,
Cody Rutherford
Once again, please visit my Walk Web page if you would like to donate online or see me personally for a cash or check donation.....
http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=86354948 Listen everyone, this means a lot to me and I would truely like to recieve as many donations as possible, my goal is $550 right now, but I really want to surpass this, and go past any of my own expectations along with JDFR's. There is another reason it means so much to me too, I have family members with it, and have been told by my doctor that I will more than likely have it in my older age. All of the donations will go to the company for the walk, not a single penny will go to myself, it is purely volunteer and i don't expect any of you to donate, but would like it if you would, even a dollar, or maybe $0.50 anything would help tremendously, well that is all for tonight,
Cody
P.S. This will continue for a long time so this update will be put on here every month or so.
