Fandom

When my life starts to turn upside down, I turn to fandom. I always turn to fandom when things in life got hellish. When my marriage started to crumble, I turned to the Joo Ji Hoon fandom. He's the guy who played an imaginary South Korean crown prince from a really cheesy TV series back in 2006. I think it's the easy morality of the series in general and how his character, Shin, embodies all the things that I tried to uphold back then.

Then things became calm and I met another man, and I left the fandom.
I was happy with the one that I love, he fulfilled all the romantic and intellectual desire and whatever it is that you want to call.

But then things start to crumble again. When I am no longer living a fantasy of my boyfriend as my fandom hero, I became agitated and depressed.

Then I turned to another fandom. This time is the DBSK - Dong Bang Shin Ki fandom. The boyband with the biggest fanclub in the world, or so they say. At least that's the number of members of their official fanclub in Korea and to think that Korea is a small country, it may say something about their star power.

This is a convoluted fandom, due its sheer size only. I have no access to the actual Korean fandom, only the international online fandom and it's damn confusing already.
