Exam Morality Junk

Ever get a question on an exam that pertains almost perfectly to a piece of work you'd examined throughout the year? Whether you'd written an essay on it, or what not? Do you ever feel guilty about using it during the exam, thinking it would be more proper to use a work you haven't thoroughly examined ( Read more... )

I honestly never thought about it before my Early Modern Lit prof made a rule that we couldn't write on the same topic on the exam. Of course, then we also had the benefit of having the questions two days early.

I don't see why you should feel bad about it, because as long as the prof/ta's know what they're doing, the questions won't be even close to the same as the ones we wrote on. I think it is impressive if we can write about one book from more than one angle. It shows you were really paying attention to OTHER aspects of the book as well as the ones you were explicitly told to focus on in your essay. ... especially if it's a comparative question between a text you HAVE done and one you haven't. Fresh angle.

I figure the prof/T.A. would tell us if they objected to that... and I don't know about your other exams, but when it comes to the ENG202 one don't worry... we explicitly asked our T.A. and she said there was no such rule for that class. She even looked SURPRISED that we were asking.

haha, I thought so too! Whenever there's an LJ news thing, I go through a couple pages of comments... but NOT to read what people say! To steal avatars!

Although this one has been on my comp for awhile... they just keep piling up. :S
