It's been 3 years since I've tried this meme, and I've picked up a few more characters since then, so I'm hoping this will still work out.

He turned his eyes away in irritation as the blond sat down across from him at the breakfast table. The flash of anger was familiar and he enjoyed the warmth it brought to him. It helped him ignore the small spark of happiness that the other boy was still here, that he wasn't alone again. He hated that need and so he ignored it just as he ignored the boy who caused it.

He reached up, turning up the volume of his mp3 player and glanced as the blond prattled on obliviously. He didn't care what the boy had chosen to talk about today, he told himself. It didn't matter. He looked away again, concentrating on his food. It didn't take long for him to finish, and he stood without a word to the other boy, walking away without another glance.

Barely, he heard the boy's startled protest as he left his tray of dirty dishes at the kitchen and headed for the door. He'd barely made it out of the mess hall before he was joined by the boisterous youth, undoubtedly complaining loudly at being left behind, which he couldn't hear. He ignored the boy again. Ignored the comfort of having him near.

He scowled angrily at the thought finally pulling the headphones down as the boy started into another topic of inane chatter.

"Hey, Akira, did you know--"

He never finished his thought as the brunette suddenly punched him hard in the stomach doubling him over and dropping him to his knees.

"You talk too much."

He walked off again, pulling the headphones up and enjoying the solitude as the other boy attempted to regain his breath.
