I had originally intended to go to bed about half an hour ago, but somehow what happened a few moments ago seemed worthy of going into LJ.
I swear I have some horrible form of "spidey sense." While it worked well for Peter Parker, somehow it seems a little less useful to someone with Arachnaphobia. I always seem to find them. I'd just turned off the electronics here in the basement and unplugged my small tv to take back upstairs (I still have an issue falling to sleep without the sound of people talking). I was just beyond the couch when I realized that there was a spider the size of a quarter on the floor a yard from where I stood. I manged to stifle a scream and barely avoid dropping the tv onto my foot [I 'gently' set it on the floor a foot or two away] before leaping over the couch to flee. Now I suppose Kurapika might be proud of the fact that I killed a spider, but somehow crouching behind a couch and throwing paint bottles and pencil cases from four feet away seems an....er...less than honorable way to slay one's foe.
Gawd I hope we don't see any spiders while I'm in costume. I'll have a serious reaction of course, but somehow, seeing Kurapika attempt to claw his way into the nearest person's ribcage to get away from the eight-legged half-inch fiend seems less than in character behavior. xD
