Danzig and Morrissey: together again for the first time!

Jan 10, 2009 20:45

We are watching LOTMS again in order to inspire me and carleton97 for Big Bang. (Yep, we signed up to co-write a Big Bang story. Meep!)

Oh, band made of freaks and geeks. I ♥ them so.

Yay! I am very excited to see what you come up with. Because MCR will always, always, always be my favorite.

Mine too! The downswing in the amount of MCR stories posted over the past several months makes me sad. D:

Ah! So it's not just me being paranoid? Because I've been thinking that there seem to be fewer and fewer, but I wasn't sure if perhaps it was just wishful thinking to believe hat there were more stories before...

You don't think it's like with TV shows, where there's always a bit of a dip during hiatus? Though given the new fodder of the blog and twitter, you'd think that would be inspiring material.

(Oh! And if you want more than one person to take a look, I'd also be happy to beta. Or cheerlead, or whatever you need. I have more time to play with than usual for the next several months.)

Nope, everyone I've talked to about it agrees that there's definitely been less MCR stories posted recently.

I think it is a lot like a TV show hiatus. It's a very visually-oriented fandom, so without new footage of interviews, concerts, music videos, etc., there just isn't as much to inspire people to write. Hopefully as they start gearing up for a new album, we'll start getting more source material. (And for my part, I'm always a little uncomfortable with reminders that the guys are actually *online*, since I have fourth wall issues.)

Woot, that would be totally excellent!

Ah, true. I can definitely see that. And also the fourth wall uncertainty... I try not to think about that too much. I'm not sure I succeed as much as I might like.

I am so looking forward this! :D

The fourth wall thing is basically why all of my bandom fic is ridiculous magical realism or genderswap or AU. Somehow it feels less weird if what I'm writing is clearly not set in anything resembling the real world.

:D
