Entry 69- Swinging Through Summer.

Jul 26, 2004 22:05

One thing's for sure, summer hasn't been boring on my end. Since I haven't had much time to update (again!), I'll just write about the whole summer vacation right here.

I had actually saved up a lot of money, so that summer wouldn't be so harsh as last year's summer vacation was. The thing is, my job at Burger King, the head boss and quite a few of the others there really like me, so I got plenty of hours in. With this in mind, I decided to splurge a little.. Quite a few plans I had in mind had backfired though, which eventually resulted in the list that I had on the previous journal entry. In the very end, I ended up with this stash of stuff:

*Sonic X Vol. 1 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 2 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 3 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 4 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 5 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 6 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 7 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 8 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 9 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 10 [Hi-Spec Edition] (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 11 (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 12 (DVD)
*Sonic X Vol. 13 (DVD)
*SONIC DRIVE CD Single
*The Shining Road CD Single
*T.O.P. CD Single
*Do As Infinity - Shinjitsu no Uta CD Single
*Hoshi no Kirby 64 Original Soundtrack
*Celebi: A Timeless Encounter (4th Pokémon Theatrical Feature) Original Soundtrack
*Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire Super Music Complete Original Soundtrack
*Pokémon Fire Red/Leaf Green Music Super Complete Original Soundtrack

And I got this for Wing:

*Digimon Adventure 02 Best Partner (11) - Hikari & Tailmon

I actually ordered this on June 12th, so I had to wait well over a month without touching a single penny to make sure that I could afford this BIG splurge that I did here.. It was painful, as I'll probably never do it again, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it. o.o

And with any other spare money that I had, I either treated family out to dinner on a few occasions, and even bought random people a subscription for DeviantART. I know that money can't buy friends, or buy people happiness, but the looks on someone's face when someone just comes around and does something nice for them, just out of the blue. That smile that I get to see on their face.. is just so worth it to me.. ^ ^

Where did I get all of this money afterwards, one might ask? Well, for over a solid month, I worked 7 days straight. And yes, this was at one single job here. I made enough money to pay the bills, and then either seen somebody look sad, or someone that just didn't seem to have had been given anything in awhile, so I just had to do something.

Currently, I'm taking a small vacation, as next week, I will be starting back to work at my main job, and thus, I'll be working two jobs. As tiring as working two jobs is, it keeps me from being bored, I make money, and I meet people. Despite the fact that I'm shy and even though rude people seem to be appearing in bigger numbers recently, there's still the times where nice, cool, and wonderful people come about, and it makes the days ever so worth it. ^ ^;

I'm thinking about taking a few screen shots of the Sonic X DVD's and doing other things, while I have the time. The bad thing about having two jobs is, I don't have as much free time as I'd like, and not being able to hang around my friends like I used to.. It's a pain, but in the future, anything's bound to happen. As a matter of fact, quite a few friends of mine that I've known online for a very long time have told me that they'd like to meet me one day face to face. This is something that I've been looking forward to for a very long time now... and I'm feeling happy, giddy, yet a bit nervous.. but I'm sure that things'll be just fine and dandy. ^ ^;;

Other things that occured during Summer Vacation besides work and spending money on various things, was that I got to get to know my bosses at Burger King better. One of them, whom is 11 years older than me really loves video games, and we've spent quite a bit of time talking about the games that we have. I even let her borrow Mario Vs. Donkey Kong and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

And while I've had some free time, I've also been thinking of a few things, and a few things could more than likely turn into rants.. One thing that came to mind was the Sonic Fandom, and I'm quite sure many has heard of Sonic the Hedgehog, right? Well, first it starts off with the games, and soon afterwards, comic books and T.V. shows starring Sonic starts to pop up, and each seems to star Sonic and the other casts of characters in various settings, worlds, stories, etc., and with this, the fandom split. Now this honestly was both good and bad. The good news was, it gave people a choice as to which version of Sonic they liked most, and they could follow that particular version. The downside to this was, it caused massive confusion upon newer fans, and then there was the usual people from one fandom bashing another (this honestly caused me to avoid the fandom completely for the longest time), and things got rather ugly..

Then there's the confusion and arguments on character names. Like Dr. Eggman/Dr. Robotnik, Fang the Sniper/Nack the Weasel, etc..

But that's just my opinion on things. I don't like to rant much, due to my blood pressure, which is dangerous for my health.. c.c;;

Also, my sister and her husband are going to be moving Thursday to Georgia, so things will be kind of hectic on my end for the time being...

And while browsing the web yesterday, I found a few rather nice sites. ^ ^

*Chadah's Corner - Site With Tons of Game Music CD Info, and Where To Find & Buy Them.
*Ozy and Millie - Awesome web-comics, which has kept me well occupied over many, many sleepless nights. ^ ^;
*The Castlevania Dungeon - Info, Pictures, Musics, etc. from the Castlevania Games. ^ ^

Before I sign off, here's another question I have in mind. What's your favorite beverage (drink)? Lately, I've been addicted to Pepsi Vanilla, though I haven't had it in a long while, due to various reasons... *coughcoughspendingmoneyelsewherecough*. c.c;;

See you! ^ ^
