Well for those who care, I am leaving for South Dakota tomorrow (friday) to work at the Harley Davidson Festival as a backline tech for the next week
This festival has bands like Fuel, Godsmack, Ted Nugent (one of my heros), Velvet Revolver, Reverend Horton Heat (another favorite of mines), 38 special, eddie money, forgeiner, and many more.
I've heard its the spring break of dakota, all in Sturgis, South Dakota. The only thing is I have to drive this all in 2 days in a large truck (my math put it at 20 hours total, so not too bad, but not fun). I just found out all this on monday and haven't heard info for it till yesterday and it got all worked out by today. SO I have had a stressful week awaiting info and my fellow companion for the drive (I could work this show alone, its the drive that is going to be hard) I need to go find a box of those 5 hour energy drinks.
Sucky thing is I will miss opening night of my girlfriend's play which is next weekend (I wont be back till saturday at the earliest) This will be the 4th weekend in a row I am out of town for her too. I had Bite of Seattle (which was all weekend, I was in town but not much), then it was off to Pendleton oregon for the next, now it will be South Dakota, and the weekend after that I've heard rumors of either Concert at the Rivers or Freedom Fest. Oh and week days working the Out To Lunch Concerts, and Redmond Town Center Concerts, as well as the U village concerts. Yeah I am busy, but tis the season. I've been handing out business tickets like crazy too.
Hopefully with all this work success I am getting a reputation that will get me work in future in something cool.
I guess its the price you pay for being a rock star audio engineer and being successful.
