for notanemptymotto

They are both very old and very young all at the same time.

They first meet at a space port in Athens. He is old. She is older. She knows him. He does not know her. She is not River Song, she doesn’t hide anything when she tells him who she is. It doesn’t make her less interesting.

They meet again, this time both only having met the other one time before. They revel in their old age, they revel in their youth. She stays behind and saves the world in her Sanctuary. He leaves and saves the world from his TARDIS.

The Sanctuary is a place for Abnormals. When he visits, he fits in.

Every time they meet, they continue to get older. They continue to stay the same. There is something equally disturbing and reassuring in knowing there is a contact on Earth who will never change (and always changes).

One day, he goes to the Sanctuary and it is empty. Every room, every cell. She is gone. He searches for her for years, but knows he won’t see her again until Athens.

He travels back in time. He sits at a bar in Prague and watches her.

He knows her, she doesn’t know him. She is old. He is older.

She’s going to know him, he’s lost her to the universe. Another friend, gone like that. It makes him angry.

One day, he will beat Time.

One day.
