Ohgosh, this was just brilliant. Just ... really, really brilliant. I love how you can tell just what's happening between them in the canon by the little descriptions, and I got goosebumps toward the end. Particularly:

Soon it will be an "I" and the "we" will end and we can't figure out if that hurts worse than this slow, agonizing death.

Thank you very much for this. It so accurately sums up their relationship and just ... it's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant. The way you refer to everything as "ours" and "we" through the entire piece, it makes that moment towards the end when you suddenly switch over "Soon it will be 'I' instead of 'we'" all the more painful and poignant.

And that last line, with the way you had already connected everything together with the song, with singing, that last line was so perfect. "And when we meet again, it'll be like the song never stopped." Absolutely beautiful.
