TBH, my main problem with Rose is how she's depicted as the most important companion the Doc's ever had.

I'm drunk, I'm not addressing everything, but I think this deals with some things. I don't ship Doctor/anyone atm, but um yeah I'm interested in the new episode to see what this River woman's like.

*passes out*

I completely agree. Not with the drunk, though I imagine I should be. I think that people have become exceptionally close-minded about their characters on the show. It makes me frustrated!

Unfortunately that view of Rose is one that the show itself sometimes touts. I was rather disappointed with the way the switch from Rose to Martha was handled. If you turn your head and squint, you can just about see where some of the fandom gets their ideas. It's sad.

I know what you mean. RTD even said at one point he purposefully made Martha "less" than Rose, which really pissed me off. Rose is ONE companion. One person out of dozens and while I love her like anything, she can't be better than the others.

I hadn't heard that before, about Martha, but I can't say I'm surprised. :/ It's mind-boggling, too, because while Rose was wonderful, she was hardly any kind of super-companion. And I don't say that to put her down-- just to say that they're all wonderful. (Well, I'm not terribly crazy about Leela and Peri, but still, I'd never want the Doctor to imply or believe that they were lesser than Sarah Jane or Turlough.)

I was thinking something similar. While the Rosefen (I like that term to distinguish them from the actually sane and sweet fans) are crazy and get me twitchy, the show often gives them something to go off. I really hope the finale is well done, so the fans spouting off how it's only about Rose's return aren't proved right.

I can't agree more about the finale. I like Rose, but the crazy faction of fandom is very nearly enough to make me dread her return. I hate saying that, but it's true.

I know what you mean. It took a wonderful Rose RPer to remind me why I loved her in the first place. Fandom made me forget for a while. I might start avoiding the fandom come finale time if I have the willpower.

Yeah that was what I meant more than fandom actually. RTD obviously loves Rose a little too much I think. I mean some of things I've read he's meant to have said about Martha are just down right horrible. I heard in the Doctor's Daughter he just wanted to make her miserable which is nice.

I think 10's been over romanticised maybe, true my knowledge of past Doctor's is limited but I'm sure none of the others were as big man whores!

Oh! I'm sorry if I was just repeating you, then. :) I couldn't tell which you meant, but really, either is applicable. And yeah, wow, hasn't Martha had enough misery? I really liked Martha's parts of TDD, though. You can see why she'd be good for UNIT.

None of them were, not by a long shot. Well, there's Eight, but even he only had one snog! And he was kind of amnesiac, so you know.

Yeah I was pretty vague, what with all the vodka and everything, and yes both do apply definitely.

Yeah Eight had the potiential I guess, clearly RTD just has a thing for Tennent I reckon.
