1. Welcome home hooch ^-^
2. Alright my body-mod friends. What kind of experiences have you had with your percings, tattoos, etc. in the "real" world? What sort of problems do you project having in the future?

A few days ago, I'd just brought this couple their appetizer and was taking their dinner order. The way I was holding the tray, like propped on my hip and holding onto the edge of it, my knuckles were pretty much right in he guy's face. So Mr. Redneck decides to take offense to the swastika on my hand. Irony, right? "What the hell is that buddy? You can't be just spreading your hate around like that! What are those other two symbols? More devil signs?" So I just kind of boredly looked down at my hand, realized what he was talking about, explained the idealism of it, "-not that it's frankly any of your business sir. Can I take your order?" He grumbled out a dish, I brought it, continued with my work. He apologized later. His wife said it was nice that I wore my beliefs on my sleeve like that.
Playing host a week ago. "What's that on your hand?!" So I looked up from marking down the table, gave my hand a curious look. "Hmm... Looks kind of like a tattoo." Grabbed the menus brought them to their table. Realized I was being pissy. Explained. "Oh that's cool."
Happens a lot. At work, when people ask or give me that shocked look, I just tell them about it. But that's because it's my job. Outside of work, fuck you. It's my business.
After a long day, a professor got on my bad side about it. "Do you honestly expect to have people put their lives in your hands when you have such hatred tattooed on them?!" "Wow, for having a medical degree you sure are one uneducated bastard." He told me to educate him. And I did.
If anything, a patient should trust me because of what I've got inked into my skin.
Besides, surgeons wear gloves.
