1. Welcome home hooch ^-^
2. Alright my body-mod friends. What kind of experiences have you had with your percings, tattoos, etc. in the "real" world? What sort of problems do you project having in the future?

2. is this because of chris. omg. how are you two still together when these are the kinds of things he worries about? i cant see you ever sympathizing with that.
of course everything i said here still applies. tell him to please read all the comments again.
as for me... well how bout we all start with what we have done to us.
im not very extreme i guess. my lips pierced on one side. three piercings in each ear lobe. generally got hoops in the top two and 10 gauges in the bottom one. and i just got the top of my ear done on the right side. (no "gay" significance there, thats just where my hair parts.) next up is a piercing through the little inner flap on the right and an industrial in the left.
pummer hates it, but ive never had problems with anyone in the "real" world. when i go to work, i just take out all my earrings - except the gauges, which i just replace with more conservative looking gauges :P put a little clear retainer in for my lip, and i look like any other decent human being. a retainers no help if you have like a cheek piercing or something. but stuff like lips and eyebrows have curves to em, so the retainer is much less obvious. i forgot to take it out one day though and it was no big deal. it was just "hey hookman, whats that on your face?" i turned around kind of confused, wielding my tray of hot food, and next thing i know georgias taking it out and slipping it in my shirt pocket. "careful with that thing kid."
when pummer was meeting with his medical professors, who are all esteemed doctors themselves, it was just like "oh hi, nice to meet you! do ya wanna be a doctor?!" nobody cares. when i was meeting with my own professors, two of them commented on my face-wear. "you'll need to take that out when youre at work you know." and "ooh did that hurt?"
i almost always take everything out when im doing something "professional"-ish. and on the few times i didnt, it wasnt a problem.
this is the new generation.
